Search tips

Use two or three words that describe the situation rather than typing a complete sentence. Helpful searches include a document type, recipient, or purpose—for example, medical leave office, payment reminder client, or apology late delivery.

  • Try a shorter phrase when no result appears.
  • Use related words such as request, application, letter, or email.
  • Open several examples and choose the one closest to your real situation.
  • Replace all placeholders and verify facts before sending.

Browse instead of searching

You can also use the complete directory or browse focused collections such as leave applications, job applications, complaints and apologies, and business correspondence.

The search index loads only after you focus or type in the search box, which keeps the initial page lightweight. Search happens in your browser and the query is not submitted to a site search database.

Choose and customize a result

A search result is a starting point, not a finished document for every situation. Open the closest example, confirm who will receive it, and replace every bracketed placeholder. Add the specific dates, names, amounts, evidence, deadlines, and action that apply to your case.

Before sending a formal letter or application, check spelling, contact details, attachments, and the requested response. For legal, medical, immigration, tax, employment, or financial matters, confirm current local requirements with an appropriate authority or qualified professional.

When no exact match appears

Try the broader document type first, such as request letter, leave application, or complaint email, and then narrow the results with the recipient or purpose. Similar templates can often be adapted safely when their structure and level of formality match your needs.

Save the best match

After choosing a template, copy it into your preferred editor and keep an untouched version for reference. Give the edited file a clear name, remove instructions that should not be sent, and preview the final document on mobile and desktop before printing, emailing, or submitting it.
