Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to highlight a misfortune event of police violence against me that occurred on (date).

On Friday afternoon, I was traveling alone in my car from work to home. Around a block from my house, I saw three police officers chatting and laughing in the middle of the street. I honked at them to clear the way for my car to pass as the street was narrow. As soon as I honked, one of the police officers came toward me, forcefully opened the car door, and grabbed my arm to drag me out of the car. Then, without saying anything, he slapped me. Another police officer also came in, slapping my head and shoulder, stating that I do not respect civil officers. They were beating me when the third officer intervened and asked them to let me go. The first one warned me that I’ll be dead meat if he sees me ever again near him or in this street.

I only have one question here, where was I at fault? They were the ones standing in the middle of the road, not caring for the passerby, but I was the one beaten up simply because I honked at them. Police officers are supposed to be our saviors, and here they are, making life so much more difficult for the common masses. I ask you to look deeply into this matter and hold these police officers accountable for their actions. I expect nothing but cooperation and a fair decision from you.

Subject: Complaint of Police Officer for Beating for No Reason

Sir,

I am writing to inform you about the violent chaos that went down on (date).

I was having dinner with my brother in a cafe on the corner of 49th St. Suddenly, two police officers came inside the cafe and started beating us both badly. People around were capturing it, and both the police officers were not interested in telling us what was our fault. Two girls were stopping the officers from beating us, but they were not interested. Finally, one of the girls shouted, “They are not them. They have already fled”. The officers stopped beating us, and without saying anything to us, they asked the girls to come outside with them. Later on, it was revealed that the girls had two stalkers harassing them in the cafe, so they called the police.

Why were we beaten? Because we were the only two Black men in the whole cafe. Police officers did not bother to investigate at first, and as soon as they saw two Black men, they jumped to the conclusion that only we could be the stalkers. Even after decades, Black people are still considered the most viable threat by the police. I request you to kindly look into this matter and make such police officers accountable for their actions so no more people will have to suffer because of their skin color.
